Music Monday: M.C. Luscious
It’s Music Monday! Yay!! This week we are traveling back to the early 90s and taking a moment to appreciate The Box, Detroit’s own video jukebox on basic cable. Videos on heavy rotation included Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back”, The Dogs’ timeless classic “Your Mama’s on Crack Rock”, and inexplicably, Soul Asylum’s “Runaway Train”. Also featured was M.C. Luscious’ “Boom I Got Your Boyfriend”. That girl sang some dir-tay songs, and my parents would never have let me own her album, so I must give thanks to The Box for introducing me to this tune. And thank you, M.C. Luscious, for inspiring this week’s Music Monday workout outfit.
These pop art capris from the Brazilian company Balance Fitwear totally capture the late 80s/early 90s bright color palette. I wanted a tank that would pick up the neon yellow in the pants and a comfortable, but eye-catching cover up. The open shoulder on the dolman top will let the yellow tank show through on your way to the studio. And to go out after class in style all you’ll need is a pair of gold hoop earrings and a headband across your forehead. Boom.
